The status and actions of Sichuan in the Pan-Pearl River Delta and the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area is a controversial topic. In Sichuan Province, some comrades believe that there is no such geographical advantage as Sichuan and the Pearl River Delta far from the border with Yunnan and Guangxi. The substantive significance of joining the Pan-Pearl River Delta is not significant. This article attempts to analyze and explain the significance of Sichuan’s participation in the Pan-PRD, or its strategic position in the Pan-PRD region’s cooperation
