豫芝八号是河南省芝麻研究中心选育的高产稳产优质白芝麻新品种。在1990～1992年的河南省区试中,亩产60kg,比对照增产19.4％,居参试品种首位。1991年在许昌进行的超高产示范中,亩产达252.8kg,1994年在太康进行的超高产试验中,0.4亩折亩产225kg。该品种种皮较白、千粒重较高,含油率55.59％,商品品质优良,又具有抗病、耐涝、抗倒、适应性广等优点,是当前我省芝麻品种利用中较为理想的良种之一。加速其繁殖利用对改变我省芝麻低产面貌,推动芝麻
