美国的工业革命开始于1812—1814年英美战争之后。英美战争爆发后两国的贸易大大受到限制,英国的商品输入几乎断绝,工业品全靠自己制造。从此,美国走上独立发展资本主义工业的道路,开始了工业革命。到南北战争前夕,美国在棉纺、毛织、制铁、面粉、食品加工、木材加工等主要工业部门建立起使用机器的近代化工厂。这时,美国的资本主义工厂制度已初步建立起来,工业革命也取得初步的成就。
The industrial revolution in the United States started after the Anglo-American War 1812-1814. After the Anglo-American war, the trade between the two countries was greatly limited. The import of goods from the United Kingdom was almost cut off and the industrial products were entirely manufactured on their own. Since then, the United States embarked on the road of independent development of capitalist industry and started the industrial revolution. By the eve of the Civil War, the United States established modern factories that use machines in major industrial sectors such as cotton spinning, wool weaving, iron making, flour, food processing and wood processing. At this time, the system of capitalist factories in the United States was initially established and the industrial revolution also achieved initial success.
