Objective To understand the death and causes of emergency cases in Shenzhen and provide an objective basis for further construction and improvement of emergency network. Methods From 2002 to 2004, 72 emergency medical hospitals in the city, emergency department and emergency hospital admission of 10,020 patients died of medical information, the establishment of a database using Foxpro6.0, SPSS11.0 statistical analysis. Results The hospital out-of-hospital mortality rates of three annual telephone calling patients were 2.37%, 2.05% and 2.35%, respectively, with an average of 2.26%. The emergency mortality rate of hospitalized patients was 9.1074 / 10000, 7.4420 / 10000 and 6.9804 / 000 respectively, with an average of 7.8433 / (39.96 ± 23.51) years old, (39.78 ± 25.28) years old and (39.88 ± 22.85) years old, with an average of (39.87 ± 23.88) years old.The ratio of male and female was 2.11:1,2.12:1 and 2.41:1 2.22: 1. According to the ICD-10 classification, lesions and circulatory disorders are at the forefront of the cause of death spectrum, causing a decrease in traffic accidents and an increase in other injuries. CONCLUSIONS: The out-of-hospital mortality rate of telephone call-seeking patients in Shenzhen is lower than that of other cities in China. From 2002 to 2004, the emergency treatment rate in hospital-treated patients showed a downward trend with no significant change in the average age of death. Men exposed to various lethal risk factors were significantly higher than those in other cities Women, injuries and circulatory disorders are the major emergency causes of death.
