欧洲的交通信息广播,迄今是使用ARI方法或在RDS信号中传送TP(交通广播电台识别信号)和TA(交通广播播出控制信号)来实现的。交通广播是节目的组成部分,即播出模拟交通信息时,不得不中断其它节目的广播。 TMC(Traffic Message Chan-nel-交通信息信道)则是另一回事:所有的交通通告都是数字编码的,是与基本的广播节目、其它RDS信息一起传送的。TMC属于RDS的基本应用之一。TMC每分钟可以传送20条交通通告,这比现在的模拟方式传输的容量和速度
Traffic information broadcasts in Europe have hitherto been made using ARI methods or transmitting TP (Traffic Radio Identification) and TA (Traffic Broadcasting Control Signals) signals in RDS signals. Traffic broadcasting is an integral part of the program, which broadcasts analog traffic information and has to interrupt the broadcasting of other programs. TMC (Traffic Message Chan-nel) is another story: all traffic notices are digitally encoded and are transmitted along with basic broadcasts, other RDS messages. TMC is one of the basic applications of RDS. TMC can send 20 traffic notifications per minute, which is more than the capacity and speed of current analogue transmissions
