在组织和领导新民学会相关事务中,毛泽东主席与新闻结下了不解之缘,并在实际工作中积累了丰富的新闻工作经验,为他日后的革命工作打下了坚实的基础。在中国现代革命史上,卓越的新闻工作能力是毛泽东相比其他早期中共领导人最突出的特点之一。出生于中国社会最底层的青年毛泽东以新民学会为基地,利用在北大新闻研究会获得的新闻专业知识,以新闻报刊为工具,在湖南展开了轰轰烈烈的反帝反封建革命斗争,为早期的中国革命做出了突出贡献。
