Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is the gateway to China’s inland shipping, but also industrial and agricultural water, fisheries breeding and tourism of important rivers. Hangzhou Canal from the south section of Hangzhou near the Genshan door, northbound to the martial arts first stop, the whole paragraph 23.6 kilometers long. After the canal is out of Hangzhou, it passes through Hangjiahu Plain and enters the territory of Jiangsu Province. In the early 1950s, the waters of the Hangzhou section of the canal were still in a natural state with clean water, lush aquatic plants and plenty of fish and shrimps. With the economic development, at present, more than 200 factories have been built along the banks of the river. Industrial and domestic sewage are discharged into the canal in large quantities. The water quality is seriously polluted and the river is smelly. This seriously affects the growth and damage of aquatic organisms The fishery resources, the destruction of the function of the environment In order to prevent canal pollution and comprehensive development and utilization purposes, we carried out in 1983-1984 the topic of research, from the perspective of zooplankton to assess the status of the canal water pollution, providing biological aspects Basic information for the prevention and control of pollution services.
