In the late 1930s, the outbreak of the war was inevitable. In order to effectively combat the enemy forces, the British Armed Forces signed a contract with the U.S. Smith-Wesson Company in 1939 to design and manufacture a new gun for its troops. After the gun was successfully designed, it was named M1940 “light rifle.” In fact, the gun has the appearance of a rifle, but launched 9mm Bala Belumram bullets, and only a single launch. Such a non-rifle non-submachine gun weapon indeed had a hard fate and was subject to many other design problems. As a result, the gun was scrapped by the British Armed Forces before mass delivery and the contract was canceled. How is this a story? -
