东起东安门大街东口,西至晨光街北口,毗邻王府井步行街和故宫东华门,北京市唯一一家规范管理、合法经营的露天夜市——东华门美食坊夜市就位于此地。这里汇集了全国各地的百余种风味小吃,每当华灯初上,摊位前人头攒动,慕名而来的中外游客络绎不绝。从1985年开市至今,东华门夜市伴随了一代人的成长。为此,本刊记者走访了几位当年的知情者,请他们讲讲东华门小吃的往事。
