2014年5月28日,我们正在省政协礼堂参加省炎黄文化研究会召开的第五届理事会议之时,省文联林如求理事告诉我,姚鼎生同志病重医治无效,今晨离开了人世,享年87岁。会后,我赶到湖前路姚家灵堂沉痛吊唁。聂兆洮同志日前特从梅城赶来照料,提起老姚如能多活两年,他的《行路难》新著就跟大家见面了……省文联季仲同志也赶来了,我们都是老姚生前好友,对他匆匆离世,深感惋惜。老姚,您该慢些走啊……
