Zhangjiajie is located in the northwest of Hunan Province. It belongs to the mid-Asian subtropical monsoon continental climate， and has average annual temperature of 16 degrees centigrade， which makes it amenable to tourists all the year round.
1.Yellow Dragon Cave
Yellow Dragon Cave lies at the eastern end of Wulingyuan Core Scenic Zone， where tourists can find caves contained in caves， rivers hidden in caves and a large number of scenic spots scattered everywhere. It is just like an underground“magical palace”， featuring a wide cave， deep and secluded un- derground rivers， hanging waterfalls and dense stone bamboo shoots， and showing a style of its own.
Yellow Dragon Cave is more beautiful than the outside world. Day or night， without fear of rain or wind， all year long， you can delight in its wonderful scenery. The cave is of good beneficial air circulation， and is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Yellow Dragon Cave is one of the foremost scenic areas in Zhangjiajie， and was rated as one of the first 4A National Tourist Attractions in China. Also it has been honored as magical karst cave both in China and in the world.
The most fantastic are the Stone Fields Chamber and the Stalagmite Chamber. The stalagmite known as “sacred Needle for Stabilizing the Sea” is unique in China. It is insured for a huge sum and is indeed a miracle of Zhangjiajie’s subterranean world.

The tally of natural wonders includes： one natural reservoir， 2 underground rivers， 3 pools， 4 waterfalls， 13 grand halls， 96 passageways and hundreds of thousands of stalagmites， columns and stalactites. The Yellow Dragon Cave is so complex and unfathomable， possessing such a multitude of geological features， that it’s impossible for us to take them all in at one time. This “magical place” abounds with all the sceneries that we can enjoy in the karst caves and the stalagmites are in all different shapes. Many famous scenic spots have been developing： the Dragon Dance Hall， Sounding River， Immortal Waterfall， Heaven Pillar Street， and the Dragon Palace. Except for a short distance near the entrance， we won’t have to do any backtracking in the cave. The entire tour takes about two hours—2400 meters by land and an additional 800 meters by water.

People never expected that after the project， beautiful scenery was created and now has become the famed Baofeng Lake. The well-known TV series ‘a Journey to the West’ （first version） was once shoot here.
Baofeng Lake is an artificial lake created by blocking gorge and building dam. The shape of the lake is a square， with a length of 2.5 kilometers and a width ranged from 200 to 1000 meters. The average depth of the water is 72 meters. The water of the Baofeng Lake is absolutely clean and without pollutions as it is an alpine lake. Looking down at the lake from the hills， the lake is like a Jade surrounded in the mountains. Sailing to the centre island on the green lake， boarding on the lakeshore for a visit to the stockade village of the Eagle’s nest （Yingwo Zhai） becomes an agreeable experience for tourists.
Baofeng Lake not only attracts the tourists all over the world but also attracts the natural animals. Every October of the lunar calendar， a mass of Yuanyang bird （mandarin duck） will fly to the lake from the north to avoid the chilly winter. The birds would like to choose here as their habitat as the water in the lake is of high quality and the water temperature is warm； the lake will not freeze in the winter. The three islands in the lake center are called the island for the mandarin ducks. The Baofeng Waterfall is located right in front of the entrance gate， flying down from one hundred meters above with a thunderous sound and is regarded as an attraction of spectacularity.

Golden Whip Brook is located inside the Wulingyuan Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie and several places of interest can be found nearby. The brook meanders its way through 5.5 km（3.5 mi） of mountains and valleys， from north to south and the further you venture upstream， the fewer people you’ll see.It is named after its representative attraction Golden Whip Rock. The canyon stretches seven kilometers from Laomo Bay to Water around Four Gates. Rock columns and peaks stand along the banks； the stream runs smoothly among them， laces together pools and waterfalls. Ancient trees and flowers as well as the rare fowls and strange animals grow and flourish together， forming an extremely beautiful and elegant ecological environment. Many famous Chinese TV series and movies including “Journey to the West” were filmed here. It is known as “the most beautiful canyons in the world”. The main scenic spots in this area include Greeting Rock， Golden Whip Rock， Purple Weed Pond， Thousands of Miles’ Meeting and Water Around Four Gates， etc.
You can enjoy the dense forest and oddly-shaped peaks from either of its banks. Leg-weary visitors are often seen resting on a rock by the stream， watching fish swimming in the water or soaking sore feet. The park is a great place to escape the summer heat， and with so many trees is a natural oxygen bar. After the first 2-3 km （1-2 mi） the paved pathways become less well-trodden so watch out for slippery moss， particularly after rainfall. Also watch out for playful monkeys along the way； they’re used to having people around and aren’t averse to pinching anything edible direct from your hands.
Golden Whip Brook scenic area is a protected natural park， which means the water and air are both clean， clear and won’t hurt you in general. So if you’ve been traveling around to some of the bigger cities and feel like you haven’t had some nice clean air， or haven’t seen some clear water in a bit than come on down and enjoy some nature. While you’re in the park， you can enjoy a number of things while enjoying all the beautiful sights， such as river trips， rafting， hiking， climbing mountains and so on. This area is home to a vast amount of wildlife and 3000 some on types of plant life. So bring your camera， and get ready to have your mind blown by the all the 239 peaks， wildlife， and plant life that this place has to offer. 4.The 99 Bends
There are 99 sharp curves on the road up to Tianmen Cave， the famous 99 Bends. The best place to see and take photos of these bends is from the cable car.
The road is built for tourist use， taking tourists from the mountain foot to the top of the mountain and Tianmen Cave. Tourist buses take travelers from the midway cable car station along some of these 99 bends to Tianmen Cave. The bus doesn’t stop on the way. It takes about 20 minutes to the cave. The ride， full of sharp turns along vertical cliffs， is not recommended for those who are easily carsick.
The road rises steeply according to the form of the mountain. The 99 bends link closely with each other and pile up in layers， making a pattern of a circling flying dragon reaching the skyline.

5. Glass Sky Walk
The glass walkway is part of the cliff-hanging walkway， and is the highest section. The “sky walk” is 60 meters long， with a width of 1.6 meters. On a clear day， walking on it， a sheer drop of thousands of feet below can be clearly seen. It gives a thrilling feeling like walking in the sky. It is definitely not suitable for the fainted heart. It is interesting to see people（scared of the height） leaning against the cliff as they cross it.
On foggy days， it is easier to walk across as you can see nothing below， however the thrilling feature of the walkway is lost. If it rains the day before， there is usually heavy fog at the mountain top.
The glass walkway closes when it is covered by ice and snow in winter.
6. World’s Highest Glass-bottomed Bridge
China opened the longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge in the world in July and the official opening of it is set for October.
At 430-meter-long， six-meter-wide and 300 meters above the valley floor， the glass bridge will span across the canyon in Hunan’s Zhangjiajie scenic spot.
It is the world’s longest glass bridge without the use of any reinforced concrete.
Hovering a dizzying 300 meters （984 feet） above the ground， the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge will span 380 meters （1，247 feet） in length and 6 meters （20 feet） wide.
Designed by Tel Aviv-based architectural firm Haim Dotan Ltd.， the bridge can accommodate up to 800 people and will feature the world’s highest bungee jump. Designers also envision the bridge as a dramatic catwalk for fashion shows.
Lead architect Haim Dotan said the design – glass-bottomed floor， side suspension cables – is meant to work seamlessly with nature， make the least impact on its surroundings and give visitors the sense of floating in mid-air.
The Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge was designed to be as invisible as possible， a white bridge disappearing into the clouds.
