何首乌是一种草药类植物。可以作为药用的部分,主要是它的块根。据《中药大辞典》介绍,它的“功用主治”是:补肝,益肾,养血。相传何首乌本名交藤,又名夜合。因其茎藤“雌雄相交,夜合昼疏”,故称。更早的还有“马肝石”“九真藤”等名目。成书于战国时期(一说秦汉时期)的《神农本草经》中没有关于它的记载。据明李时珍《本草纲目·草部·何首乌》条说: 汉武时,有马肝石能乌人发,故
