Taking neon - germanium - like ion as an example, the influence of resonance line trapping effect on the gain characteristics of electron collisional excitation X - ray laser was studied by the escape probability method. The dependence of the gain characteristics on the gain region width ΔR and the medium speed gradient dv / dz is discussed for three laser lines with wavelengths of 19.6 nm, 23.2 nm and 23.6 nm
