My mother Xu Shuying was born in Lingchuan County, Shanxi Province in the early 1920s. The mother’s life experience was very bitter. When she was two years old, she was unable to support her because of her biological parents. She abandoned her under a big tree on the deserted road and later adopted a good-hearted man named Xu who had escaped from famine. This family name Xu, named Xu Shuying.
