如果不是刻意寻找,很难发现隐藏在西四南大街西南的砖塔胡同。胡同中的建筑颇为杂乱,然而细细寻觅,仍可从偶然出现在房檐上的瓦当、和门前的面目模糊的门墩上,昭显出过往岁月的蛛丝马迹。砖塔胡同因一座“万松老人塔”而得名。塔不高,两层,经清代修葺后增高到十米,八角形,由青砖砌成,朴素别致,建于元代,俗称砖塔,至今仍存于西四南大街丁字路口的西南
