曾昭抡(1899—1967),字叔伟,湖南湘乡人。我国化学研究工作的开拓者之一。1920年在清华学校高等科毕业后赴美学习,1926年获麻省理工学院科学博士学位,同年回国任中央大学化工系教授兼系主任。1931年出任北大化学系主任。传闻北大聘请曾昭抡还有一连串奇闻轶事。那是1931年的某一天,中央大学校长朱家骅早早地去参加教授会。在会议厅,他突然发现一个衣衫褴褛的人,看上去像一个服务员,正没头没脑
Zeng Zhaotuo (1899-1967), the word uncle, Hunan Xiang people. One of the pioneers in China’s chemical research. After graduating from higher education in Tsinghua University in 1920, he went to the United States to study in the United States. In 1926, he got a Ph.D. in science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the same year, he returned to China as professor and concurrent director of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Central University. In 1931 as director of Peking University Department of chemistry. It is reported that North Tseng has employed Zeng Zhaotuan for a series of anecdotes. It was one day in 1931, the Central University President Zhu Jiahua early to attend the professor conference. In the conference hall, he suddenly found a ragged man, looks like a waiter, is utterly illiterate
