I. Overview This article describes a double-load potentiometer circuit (see Figure 1), the figure, R_p for a linear work potentiometer, which has two load resistors R_s and R_f. When R_s: R_f, the output voltage curve taken from R_f is decreasing and then increasing. The inflection point is at X = 1/2 and Y = 1/2, and its characteristic curve is symmetrical about the inflection point. As R_s increases, the inflection point will move downward. When R_s → ∞, the circuit is a simple single-load potentiometer circuit. Figure 2 shows several typical characteristics of dual-load potentiometer. A simple linear potentiometer with dual loads can be used as a function generator.
