本文阐述了利用微生物进行油气勘探的技术，并将该技术应用干东海西湖凹陷的已知区和未知区的油气地球化学勘探实践。沉积物中食烃菌的异常能够有效的指示并预测地下潜在的信息。微生物预测油气的结果与已有的地质和物探资料及钻探结果相吻合．取得了良好的应用效果。
This paper describes the technology of microbial exploration for oil and gas, and applies the technique to the exploration of oil and gas geochemistry in the known and unknown areas of Xihu Depression in the East China Sea. Abnormalities of hydrocarbon-bearing bacteria in sediments can effectively indicate and predict the underground potential information. Microbial prediction of oil and gas results and the existing geological and geophysical data and drilling results are consistent. Has achieved good results.
