布鲁斯(blues)是传统美国音乐形式的一种,19世纪末起源于非裔黑人劳作时所哼唱的民歌。美国著名黑人诗人兰斯顿·休斯掌握了这一音乐类型的精华,并将其融入诗歌中,成为创作布鲁斯诗歌的先锋人物。本文以他的作品《夜幕下的布鲁斯》为文本,结合音乐与诗歌的关系,对文本中的词汇、音韵、修辞手法、节奏和主题加以分析,从而挖掘出休斯对布鲁斯乐的把握及其蕴藏于作品之中的情感。
Blues, a form of traditional American music, originated in the late 19th century as a folk song humming during African-American black labors. Langston Hughes, a famous black poet in the United States, mastered the essence of this type of music and incorporated it into his poetry to become a pioneer in the creation of Bruce’s poetry. Based on his work Bruce at Night, combining with the relationship between music and poetry, this article analyzes the vocabulary, phonology, rhetoric, rhythm and theme in the text, so as to discover Hughes’ The emotions hidden in the works.
