唐代著名诗人杜甫曾作诗《望岳》,其中“会当凌绝顶,一览众山小”一句,已成为赞美五岳中最脍炙人口的诗句而千古传唱。五岳,是中国五大名山的总称。东岳泰山,西岳华山,北岳恒山,南岳衡山,中岳嵩山,这五大名山即为中国五岳。而以五岳为代表的山川文化,在我国传统文化中占有十分重要的地位。五岳中有三岳分布在中部六省中,北岳恒山位于山西,南岳衡山位于湖南,中岳嵩山位于河南。
