茅山山脉位于江苏省句容、溧水、高淳与金坛、溧阳诸县之间。总体呈北北东向延伸,但在吉山至白马山及云山至北山段,山脉及地层走向转为北东至北东东。以高淳双石牌至溧阳桠溪港一线为界,可分为南北两个 S 形段。北段山脉以东和以西在第四系掩覆下,有巨厚的中、新生代沉积,被分别称为常州(金坛)和句容盆地;南段山脉倾没于宣(城)
Maoshan mountains in Jiangsu Province, Jurong, Lishui, Gaochun and Jintan, Liyang counties between. In general, it extends north-northward and eastward.
