2016年4月27日,刘辽先生在经历了多年帕金森综合症与阿尔茨海默病的折磨后,与世长辞,享年88岁。刘辽教授是中国著名相对论专家,是改革开放后在中国宣传、普及广义相对论的主要学者之一,也是卓越的学术带头人之一。在时空理论、引力波、黑洞、宇宙学等方面发表了许多高水平的论文,出版了不少宣传和普及广义相对论的教材和学术专著,培养了大批青年学生。
On April 27, 2016, after experiencing years of torture of Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, Mr. Liu Liao died at the age of 88. Professor Liu Liao, a famous expert on relativity in China, is one of the major scholars who advocate and popularize general relativity in China after the reform and opening up and is also one of the outstanding academic leaders. He has published many high-level papers in space-time theory, gravitational waves, black holes, cosmology and has published many teaching materials and academic monographs that promote and popularize general relativity and have trained a large number of young students.
