德富芦花通过《黑潮》中东三郎和喜多川贞子两个性格、地位迥异人物的悲剧,揭露、抨击了日本处于国力上升的明治时代的残酷,以其人道主义情怀映照了当时的日本社会,唱出了一曲“强者之世”的人道主义挽歌。
