对于姜云燕来说2003年8月5日是她难忘的一天。这天下午,中国红十字会代表红十字国际委员会在北京人民大会堂举行第39届南丁格尔奖章颁奖大会。作为中国自第29届首次参加南丁格尔奖章评选以来获此殊荣的38名护士中最年轻的一位,姜云燕参加了这次大会。在会上,中共中央总书记,国家主席胡锦涛为姜云燕挂上了南丁格尔奖章。胡总书记握着她的手说:你是获奖中最年轻的。我为你感到骄傲。国家也为你这样的奉献者而荣幸。胡总书记还说,在边防工作很辛苦,你要多注意身体啊!身着军装的中尉姜云燕对胡总书记说:请总书记放心,我一定会在边防奉献一生。以此报答祖国和人民对我的厚爱!
For Jiang Yunyan August 5, 2003 is her unforgettable day. This afternoon, the Red Cross Society of China represented the ICRC at the 39th Nightingale Medal Award Ceremony in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. As China’s youngest member of the 38 nurses who won the honor since attending the Florence Nightingale’s 29th annual contest for the first time, Jiang Yunyan attended the conference. At the meeting, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Hu Jintao hung the Nightingale medal for Jiang Yunyan. General Secretary Hu held her hand and said: You are the youngest winner. I am proud of you. The country is also honored by such devotees as you. General Secretary Hu also said that working hard in border areas requires you to pay more attention to the body! Jiang Yunyan, a lieutenant in a military uniform, told General Secretary Hu: Please be assured of General Secretary that I will give my life to border guards. In return, my motherland and people love me!
