革命历史题材创作大体分“部队”和“地方”两个主体,整合之前,部队的创作撑起了话剧半边天,“地方”的创作远不及部队,部队的革命历史题材创作是个重点,也取得了很大的成就。《我在天堂等你》讲述50年代初解放军进藏的故事,过去和现实的联系,引起思考,最后一幕,天堂的大门打开,很震撼。《马蹄声碎》在十几年前总政曾经导过,因为涉及红四方面军,没有公开演出,这也正是革命历史题材创作中很突出的亮点。《天籁》表现了长征中战士剧社的独特温大勇(《剧本》月刊主编):
