编印于1951年的武进《金氏支谱》,对缸行金氏“西三房善公支”后裔的世系,有较为细致的整理,虽然对程、金改姓过程略有漏失模糊之处,但总体上资料翔实,态度认真。《金氏支谱》的编印问世过程可以说明,新谱中尚有不能用旧谱、新旧谱、全新谱诸概念准确定义的一种新旧连贯类型。当时,有兴趣、有学识、有财力承担编修族谱之责的,主要是一部分根在农村的城市居民。
