In the past two decades, a large number of well-known drugs have either left the market or have been warned by regulatory authorities for safety because of adverse cardiac reactions. The root causes of cardiac adverse drug reactions vary, but can be roughly divided into two categories, direct and indirect. Most drugs that have been taken out of the market due to cardiotoxin production affect cardiac function by directly interfering with cardiac coordination-related electrical activity2. Cardiac electrical activity itself is derived from the orientation and selectivity of intracellular calcium, sodium and potassium ions across the membrane channel
