翻译会产生跨文化交流,而新闻翻译更强烈地感受着文化差异所带来的冲击。新闻翻译中会出现大量富有中国文化特色的成语,而对外新闻翻译注重交际效果,因此,对外新闻翻译一定要正确处理好语言和文化的关系。本文会以《今日中国》中的软新闻为例,分析新闻英语中成语翻译所采用的方法,以便更好地达到跨文化传播的目的。
Intercultural exchanges are the result of translation, and news translation feels more strongly the impact of cultural differences. There are a large number of idioms rich in Chinese culture in news translation, while foreign news translation focuses on communicative effects. Therefore, foreign news translation must correctly handle the relationship between language and culture. This article will take the soft news in “China Today” as an example to analyze the methods used in idioms translation in news English in order to better achieve the purpose of intercultural communication.
