Teens who are highly exposed to movie-smoking lenses are about three times more likely to try smoking or become smokers than teenagers exposed to movie smoking. Todd F. Heartatherton and James D. Sargent have observed this effect in a representative sample across the United States. After controlling for many other factors, this effect remained statistically significant. Those who are traditionally considered to have a low chance of smoking, such as low-seeking and non-smoking parents, have a significant influence on the beginning of their smoking exposure in film smoking. The paper also considers the mediating and mediating variables that promote and control adolescent smoking in terms of the media effects and health policies of the film. It is fully realized that the elimination of smoking shots in movies can prevent a significant number of adolescents from smoking.
