2000年是“九五”计划的最后一年,也是抓紧制定“十五”计划、准备跨入新世纪的关键一年。在党中央、国务院的正确领导下,我国经济工作取得显著成绩,国民经济发展出现了重要转机。我国坚持积极合理有效利用外资、扩大对外开放的方针,在加入世界贸易组织(WTO)进程加快、实施西部大开发战略、国际经济发展较强劲等有利因素下,利用外资也取得了可喜进展。
Year 2000 is the last year of the Ninth Five-Year Plan and also a crucial year to step up the formulation of the Tenth Five-Year Plan and prepare for entering the new century. Under the correct leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, China has made remarkable achievements in its economic work and an important turning point in the development of the national economy. China adhered to the principle of making active and reasonable use of foreign capital and expanding its opening to the outside world and made gratifying progress in utilizing foreign investment under such favorable factors as the accelerated pace of accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the implementation of the strategy for the extensive development of the western region, and the strong international economic development.
