《唐宋名诗索引》(孙公望编)是一本构思新颖的工具书,主要由凡例、主要选本书目、句首词索引、诗题索引、主题词与关键词索引、作者索引和语词、作者、诗题差异汇录几部分组成。作者认为,它的出版,对图书情报界的学者们研究和设计高质量的索引颇有借鉴、参考价值。该书有以下几个显著特点:1.提供多条检索途径。以往人们要知道某一著名诗句的出处或有关主题的名诗时,往往只能从作者的途径去查找。《唐宋名诗索引》为人们提供了多条查找途径。如“句首词索引”是为只记得某一句诗,或为只记得某句诗开头两字的查找者而设的。通过它可查出全诗、诗题及作者。
