The Songxi silver-antimony deposit is a large new type of independent silver deposit discovered in the early 1990s. Its origin includes two basic viewpoints: the basic volcanic jet of the seafloor and the filling of volcanic hydrothermal fluids into medium and low temperature. The former thought that the ore-forming fluid was submarine hot brine, whereas the latter considered it mainly from magmatic water but added with precipitation. The systematic N 2 -Ar-He composition and He isotope studies clearly show that the Songxi ore-forming fluid is mainly derived from built water or sedimentary hot brine, of which the proportion of mantle source magma water is very small, generally <5%. According to the sources of ore-forming fluids, the genetic type of Songxi silver-antimony ore belongs to the modified type of sedimentary hot brine.
