今年是达尔文诞辰200周年,也是他的《物种起源》出版150周年。在西方,这本书不但是现代演化生物学的开山之作,还因为涉及认识“人性”的基本观点,而产生了巨大的人文冲击。难怪达尔文大概是西方科学史家研究得最透彻的一个人物。
This year marks the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth and the 150th anniversary of his publication of The Origin of Species. In the West, this book is not only a pioneer of modern evolutionary biology, but also has a huge humanistic impact as it involves the basic idea of understanding “human nature.” No wonder Darwin is probably the most thoroughly researched figure of Western science historians.
