3月29日,常州市政协在宁召开《常州十大名人传》(近现代)出版座谈会。常州市政协副主席朱保钧首先在会上汇报了《常州十大名人传》有关情况。他说,为进一步认识和了解常州人文历史的文化底蕴,提高城市文化品位,在对近现代名人进行认真调研和科学论证的基础上,编辑出版了这部作为城市标志性名人传记的普及读物,以发挥名人效应,增强常州人民的自豪感和自信心,激发青少年一代的爱国爱乡情感。常州市委宣传部拟将它申报省“五个一工程奖”。我们热切地希望该书能得到各位领导、专家、朋友的关心和指导,以便进一步改进和完善该书古代卷、当代卷的编篡出版工作。省政协副主席胡福明在座谈会上对常州市政协在研究、宣传十大名人方面取得的出色成绩给予肯定。省委党史办主任黄玉生,南京大学教授、省历史学会会长茅家琦,南京大学教授、省中共党史学会执行会长马洪武,南京大学教授、中华民国史研究中心主任张宪文,省委党校副校长潘宗白,省社科联副主席廖进,中国新闻社江苏分社社长陈光明、省政协原秘书长吴镕先后在会上发言。
