北京市朝阳区新源里小学建于1968年,地处新源里社区中心,恬静优美校园环境与周围整洁规范的小区相映成辉。学校内配有先进的现代化教学设施,拥有计算机房、多媒体教室。每个教室配有录音机、电视机、实物投影、计算机……楼外绿树红花掩映著高大的教学楼,堪称一部文明的立体教科书。目前,学校承担着国家级、市级、区级五项科研课题,是北京21世纪基础课程教材实验样本校。市级、区级领导多次到校视察指导,并接待过美国、日本等国际友人的参观访问。在各级领导的大力支持下,学校办学水平逐年提高,现有在职教职工33人,颇具教学实力的中青年骨干教师、优秀教师占专任教师的46.4%。其中市级骨干1人,区级骨干2人,校级骨干9人,此外,区兼职教研员1人。1995年,学校成立了少年科技军校。2000年,学校参加了国家级课题“现代科技”课程改革,除了以实验班带动全校的课内科技教育以外,还以此为契机,成立航天航空少年科学分院,加大对学生科技教育。学校精心设计努力创建良好的校园环境,充分利用空间,因地制宜设计科技教室“九大行星演示系统”。“错觉画”等,利用三层楼道,设计科技走廊,摆放展品,并为师生购置教学软件,配置科技类图书增强教学的直观性,努力营造科学氛围。此外在硬件方面也为学生提供完善的装备,在充分挖掘我校教师的潜力开展科技活动以外,学校还外聘多位专家指导科技活动,在科技方面多年坚持不懈的努力。
