某僧人问赵州从稔禅师:“听说你亲自见到了南泉普愿禅师,是吗?”赵州从稔禅师答道:“镇州出大萝卜头。”僧人问赵州禅师是否见到了南泉禅师,自然是想要得知两位佛门前辈会面之状,进而窥见真法。不料赵州禅师竟然顾左右而言他,说起了镇州的特产萝卜头。佛家讲究摒除“人我执”和“法我执”。前者是执著于物质利益和人体感官,后者则是执著于真法与大道。这个僧人作为出家人,大抵能够多少破除人我执,可惜仍然执著于探求所谓真法,

The former is obsessed with the material interests and human senses, the latter is obsessed with the true law and the Boulevard.
