When I was a French major in college, I had the chance to be a nanny in a wealthy French family. I do not remember the details, but I remember exactly how they lived in a magnificent townhouse in Manhattan that looked like a palace. There were several houses in Europe and plans to tow children and nannies for travel in the summer. No matter what the challenges of staying with this special family, the opportunity to travel to Europe was not only exciting, it was even more of a challenge to me then. And I like children and I also plan to teach. This seems to be a good opportunity. However, I was very scared of accepting the job; I was afraid that this family would not like me; I was afraid I would be alone; I was afraid I could not take good care of my child; I was afraid I would miss my boyfriend and family.
