1998年,威海市的再就业服务中心多达400多个,“中心”内的下岗职工有17300多人。通过该市各级劳动保障、工商、税务等部门的齐抓共管与不懈努力,该市下岗职工人员过多的问题迅速得以解决,到目前,威海市所有企业下岗职工再就业服务中心内的下岗职工仅有550人,是高峰期间的3%,占在职职工的0.2%。去年初,威海市在全省率先实施下岗职工生活保障向失业保险过渡,到今年8月完成并轨工作。这些工作的顺利开展主要得益于失业保险支撑能力的不断增强和失业保险制度的不断完善。
