甜高梁是粮饲兼用的一年生作物,成熟时茎叶均青,茎秆富含汁液,榨汁率达65%以上,汁液糖浓度16%以上。该品种抗旱、耐涝耐盐碱、较抗蚜虫,山坡、平地、洼地、轻盐碱地,房前屋后均可种植。比普通高梁高大,有效分蘖为30%。亩产鲜桔秆4000～5000公斤,籽实250～300公斤。所含营养成份比青饲玉米高,而粗纤维含量却比青饲玉米低。青贮色泽好,有酒香
