李可染(1907-1989),江苏徐州人。13岁从乡贤钱食芝学习传统山水画,1923年入上海美术专门学校普通师范科学习。1929年入杭州“国立艺术院”学习素描和油画,同时自修国画和美术史论,1943年应聘为重庆“国立艺专”讲师,1946年应聘为“国立北平艺专”教授,后经徐悲鸿引荐拜齐白石为师,同时问艺于黄宾虹。新中国成立后任中央美术学院教授、中国美术家协会副主席、中国画研究院(今中国国家画院)院长。
Li Keran (1907-1989), Xuzhou, Jiangsu. 13-year-old from the township Yin Xian Chi study traditional landscape painting, 1923 into the Shanghai Art College Normal Normal Division study. In 1929, he entered Hangzhou as a national art academy to study sketches and oil paintings. He also studied history of Chinese painting and art history. In 1943, he applied for lecturer of Chongqing National Arts College. In 1946, he applied for “National Beiping Art College” Professor, after worship by Baixi Bai Baishi white teacher, also asked art in Huang Binhong. After the founding of New China, he was a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, and the dean of the Chinese Painting Academy (now China National Academy of Painting).
