The Weimar Republic is Germany’s first attempt at democratic politics. The reason for its failure can be traced back to Germany’s defeat in the First World War. As a result of the defeat, the Weimar Republic has been an unwelcome malformed child since its founding, hiding the potential for future failures. In the brief life of the Republic, the issues of defeat and defeat are like chains, wound on the weaker body of the Republic, inhibiting the normal development of the Republic until its last death.
