江泽民同志在党的十四大报告中,把坚持两手抓,两手都要硬,把社会主义精神文明建设提到新高度,列为90年代改革和建设的十大任务之一。能不能坚持两手抓的方针,将直接关系到我们社会主义事业的兴衰和成败。这已是大多数人的共识。但随着改革的深入和市场经济的迅猛发展,有些同志自觉不自觉地把精神文明建设放在了次要和从属的位置上,认为精神文明建设是可有可无的,无关紧要的。为了澄清这些同志头脑中的模糊认识以及强化我们对精神文明建设的重视程度,有必要对社会主义精神文明建设的作用进行分析。
In his report to the 14th National Congress of the Party, Comrade Jiang Zemin ranked one of the top ten tasks for reform and construction in the 1990s by adhering to both hands and grasps both hands and taking the construction of socialist spiritual civilization to a new height. Whether we can stick to the principle of both hands will directly affect the rise and fall of our socialist cause and its success or failure. This is the consensus of most people. However, with the deepening of the reform and the rapid development of the market economy, some comrades consciously and unconsciously placed the building of a spiritual civilization on secondary and subordinate positions and regarded the building of a spiritual civilization as dispensable and irrelevant. In order to clarify the vague understanding of these comrades’ minds and strengthen our emphasis on the construction of spiritual civilization, it is necessary to analyze the role of socialist spiritual civilization.
