[World Nuclear News website reported on May 20, 2014] The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently released a new regulation aimed at preventing fish and other aquatic organisms from being drawn into the cooling water systems of large power plants and industrial facilities. The new regulation was promulgated under the Clean Water Act and follows a mediation agreement signed by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Environmental Protection Agency.
