In recent years, the molybdenum market at home and abroad has been characterized by oversupply. International molybdenum market supply in 1991 was 204.1 million pounds (1 pound = 0.454 kg), a decrease of about 7.0% over 1990. The demand was 188.2 million pounds, a decrease of about 6.8% over 1990. The molybdenum price in 1991 dropped more than 10 percentage points from 1990 levels.
