国际大地测量与地球物理联合会所属七个协会中的国际地震学与地球内部物理学协会和国际火山学与地球内部化学协会于1977年8月9日至19日在英国达勒姆联合召开了学术讨论会。在此之前,国际大地测量与地球物理联合会于8月6日曾召开特别会议,通过了接纳我入会的决议。我国应邀派出以顾功叙为团长的代表团出席了这次联合学术讨论大会,并参加了在联合大会期间两协会分别召开的各种行政会议,这些会议包括非正式会议(即座谈会)、各专业委员会议和理事会会议。会后,代表团还在英国参观访问了几个大学和科研单位。现将会议概况及其涉及的有关内容和问题扼要介绍和综述如下:
The International Association of Geodesy and Geophysics, a member of the International Association of Geodesy and Geophysics, and the International Association of Volcanology and the Earth’s Internal Chemistry, held in Durham, United Kingdom, from August 9 to 19, 1977 Symposium. Prior to this, the International Geodetic and Geophysical Union held a special meeting on August 6, adopted a resolution to accept my membership. My delegation was invited to send a delegation headed by Gu Gongshu to attend this joint academic discussion conference and to attend various executive meetings held by the two associations during the joint meeting.
