皖西茶叶虽然具有天然的优良品质,在民国时期茶叶生产的总体趋势却是下降的,但其间也不乏有上升的现象。设立皖西茶叶指导所、广泛推广茶叶改良在一定程度上推动了皖西茶业的发展。但连年不断的天灾战祸、帝国主义列强势力的侵入、茶区赋税繁重以及茶农对茶树栽培和茶园管理的忽视迫使皖西茶业不可避免地走向衰落。
Although the West Anhui tea with natural good quality, during the Republic of China tea production trend is generally decreased, but there is also a lack of rise in the phenomenon. The establishment of Wanxi tea guide, to promote a wide range of tea improved to a certain extent, promoted the development of Wanxi tea industry. However, successive years of natural disaster and calamity, the invasion by the imperialist powers, the heavy taxation in the tea area and the ignorance of the tea farmers in the cultivation of tea trees and the management of tea gardens have forced the West Anhui tea industry to inevitably decline.
