想了解奥林匹克吗?那么,请从雅典开始。要亲近这座奥林匹克城吗?也许,哈德良拱门是一个合适的起点。按照当地人的说法,拱门是“新”“旧”雅典的分界。它是在公元前2世纪由崇拜古希腊文化的罗马帝国统治者哈德良修建。有趣的是,在拱门对着卫城的那一侧刻着这样一句话:“此乃雅典,忒修斯(传说中雅典的第一位国王)之古城也。”而另一侧则是“此哈德良之城,非忒修斯之城也”。 2000多年的风雨早已斑驳了昔日帝王的豪言壮语。在滚滚的历史车轮面前,一切都已成为过眼云烟,或许惟一不变的只有更高更快更强的奥林匹克精神。假如让今天的雅典人选择一句话镌刻在拱门之上,大概最有可能的应当是——此乃雅典,奥林匹克之城也。
