对白云鄂博REE-Fe-Nb矿床矿区基底杂岩进行了锆石U-Pb年龄测定, 3个不同岩性样品的锆石测定数据点拟合直线与谐和线的上交点年龄为1948~1917 Ma, 表明白云鄂博矿区基底岩石为早元古代. 这些基底岩石并未构成某一特定沉积环境中的连续地层剖面, 而岩性包括了英云闪长岩和正长岩以及少量副片麻岩等岩石, 建议用白云鄂博早元古代基底杂岩代替原先的“群“.
Zircon U-Pb ages were measured for the basal complexes of the Bayan Obo REE-Fe-Nb deposit, and the upper intersections of the fitted and reconstructed zircons for the three lithologic samples were 1948-1917 Ma, indicating that the basal rocks of the Bayan Oubeo mining area are of the Early Proterozoic, and these basement rocks do not constitute continuous stratigraphic profiles in a particular sedimentary environment. The lithologies include diorite and syenite and a small amount of paragneiss Rocks, it is suggested to use the early Baiyuanobe basement ancient basement complex instead of the original ”group ".
