With the global increase in research funding, people are more aware of how viruses are causing human disasters and more and more trials in developing countries have seen new hope in the field of HIV vaccine research and development . However, it is believed that the vaccine, which is considered to be the best weapon against the AIDS epidemic, may take years to develop successfully, mainly because scientists are not yet aware of how to stop the rapidly mutating virus from evading the body’s immune system against the disease. Francoise Barre-Sinoussi from Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, speaking of the status of vaccine research and development released at the 16th International AIDS Symposium said that there is still a long way to go and everyone is seeking the ultimate vaccine. But people are not even sure about the viability of the vaccine itself; a few years ago a handful of scientists worked tirelessly in the lab, and now there are collaborative research partners around the world
