泥石流是一种特殊的山洪,它是泥、砂、石块和水混合成两相的流体,是地质环境与人类活动相互作用的产物。它象地震、滑坡、山崩等自然灾害一样,给山区工农业生产和人民生命财产安全带来危害。因此,研究泥石流,同泥石流作斗争,是“四化”建设的一项重要工作。云南东北部的小江流域,是我国泥石流严重地区之一。这里泥石流规模巨大,危害严重。为了认识泥石流,进而积极地治理它,本文就其形成原因、运动特征、灾害情况和防治实例作一阐述。
